  • Power Tools, Garden Tools, Painting Tools, Steering Wheels
  • Hand-Held Electronics, Portable Electronics, Business Equipment Housings
  • Healthcare Devices, tubing
  • Housesware & Appliances, Sporting Goods

Base Chemistries

Versaflex alloys draw from three chemistries:

1. Styrenic block copolymers (SBC or SBS), tightly linked polystyrene and elastomeric blocks, are the most widely-used TPEs available. Compounding options enable fine tuning for performance and properties.

2. Thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPVs), a fine dispersion of highly vulcanized rubber in a continuous phase of a polyolefin, offer high tensile strength, high elongation, resistance to tension and compression set, oil resistance, and resistance to flex fatigue.

3. Thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs), among the first of the TPEs, can range from dense and hard to quite soft. TPUs offer excellent abrasion, load and chemical resistance.
